I really don’t like surprises. I know, I can see you shaking your head. I don’t have a good reason, but it's always been this way.
As a child, for example, every Christmas I would sneak out of my room (like a ninja...under the cover of night) and deftly unwrap each present. I would then re-wrap the gifts with amazing precision and place them back exactly where I found them. Years later, I revealed my holiday tradition to my Mom. She was both astonished and relieved at the same time. She could never figure out why I was never all that surprised by my gifts.
Well, even though I was a naughty child and don’t deserve a surprise, I received one today. Each month, HikingTheTrail.com, recognizes outdoor and adventuring bloggers with the Golden Boots Blogger Award. And wouldn’t you know it, I won during the month of April 2016. Alright, cool surprise. To be recognized for doing what you love to do makes all the effort worthwhile.
Thank you for your nominations and support. I’ll keep writing if you keep reading.
